Glendaruel Brigade gets new radios

Tuesday, 19 June 2012

The Radio Replacement Project, one of the biggest communication technology projects undertaken by CFA has reached the practical completion of the rollout of more than 5000 portable and 4000 mobile radios to every CFA fire brigade in Victoria.

Fire brigades in CFA’s Grampians region are the latest to receive both the Tait P25 portable hand-held and vehicle-mounted radios. Listen to an interview on ABC Radio's Drivetime program with the Project Director Doug Booth

Doug said one of the most pleasing aspects of the Radio Replacement Project is that for the first time, a number of rural CFA fire brigades now have access to handheld portable radios for their critical communications, in addition to their vehicle-mounted mobile radios.

Glendaruel Captain, Tom Drife said his brigade members were very pleased to now have hand held radios.

Good to see the digital radio installation program is finished.
Can anyone tell me why I still have a Motorola in my private vehicle?

Will it be replaced, and if it is to be replaced, what will it be replaced with and When will it be replaced?
